  Initially I was lied to about the work they had available, and so turned up a month early for the season despite being told it had already started.
  
  This place is expensive and they want money for everything, showers, laundry you name it. They even have the audacity to charge a (potentially) refundable fee of $40+ for a cooking box (pot, pan, plate etc) when most hostels only charge $5. Especially when they've clearly sourced their stuff from local op shops.
  
  The staff were rude and unhelpful, I even heard backpackers being told not to look for work themselves, guessing this is so they can get a cut of the wages or a finders fee or whatever.
  
  Upon arrival they take a $200 'security deposit' in cash only which I've never had to do in any other hostel EVER. They seem to use this as leverage against people who might want to leave. I've even heard then asking to see peoples flight details to prove they are leaving.
  
  I got out as soon as I could, they have a bad reputation in the community with locals for a reason.
